Rebecca Emily Raab
There are a few things you should know about me.
I’m a collector of ‘right’ places. I’m an investigator of humanity. I’m an explorer of the earth. I’m a seeker of deep connections. And, I’m addicted to the new.
My first ever solo trip was a blind leap into the unknown – and terrifying. I knew none of that which I wrote above. I can still feel the fear and my heart physically races every time I think back to it. It was an attempted escape from the vivid future I could see unfolding for myself - the monotonous full-time office job in London.
The leap involved moving to the furthest flung place I could think of – New Zealand – where I lived out my internship year. Since then, I’ve lived in the Jungles of Borneo learning survival, experienced Chinese cities just as the global pandemic hit and wandered to over 20 countries.
The fear of being stuck got me started – now, the adrenaline of opportunity keeps me going. I look back through my passport and not only see snapshots of where I’ve been, but I see the journey that’s made me who I am… and the story is still being written.
