There are three main reasons why I love travelling. First off, the people you meet are incredible!

Whether they are also travellers or the locals of where you're exploring, you'll find people with totally new perspectives on the world to make you think, make you laugh and make you do things you didn't think you could. It's also crazy when you come across someone you have so much in common with while you're on the other side of the world!

The second reason I love to travel is because of the things you end up doing or being a part of that you just wouldn't at home. This week I have been paragliding, rafting and to a Nepalese birthday party. Even though there are plenty of great things going on at home, being away and travelling gives me the drive, as well as the opportunity, to get involved in new things.

Finally, and maybe most of all, I love the freedom travelling gives you. You are in complete control of where you are, who you are with and what you get up to. You can do or not do anything you like.

You don't have deadlines or timetables to conform to so you can do everything and anything at the pace you want to, with the people you like. If you don't like somewhere you can leave, but if you love somewhere you can stay and return when it suits, and I don't think you ever have that freedom at home.
