Emily Sanderson
Travel is my way of healing and overcoming adversity.
In 2019 my father suddenly passed away and shortly after I found myself going through a painful divorce. I was soon diagnosed with depression and my life as I knew it changed forever.
Travel is in my blood. My Dad travelled the world and growing up listening to his stories of his adventures most definitely fuelled my passion to explore. When I was at rock bottom, gripped by grief and heart break, I decided to solo travel for the first time. It would ignite a spark of hope within me.
Solo travel taught me to fall back in love with not only life, but most importantly, with myself. Grief and divorce had left me feeling lost and alone.
I travel because it has helped me to re-connect with my authentic self. I’ve experienced incredible highs in the memories I’ve made and the places I’ve explored. I’ve had to pick myself up from the inevitable lows and the odd travel mishap, but this has only helped me to grow and develop courage, confidence and resilience.
